Carved entirely by hand from 5,000-year-old British bog oak, this serpent pendant is one of the most intricate pieces to emerge from RavenStein Studio. The snake's sinuous, coiling body is shaped from ancient amber-toned wood, its surface alive with the natural grain of timber that lay preserved beneath the peat for five millennia.

The eyes are inlaid with crushed opal — tiny points of fire that catch the light and give the snake an unsettling, watchful presence. Above the carving, a handmade copper coil bail and copper bead complete the piece, adding a raw, elemental warmth that feels entirely in keeping with the ancient materials below.

Serpents have been symbols of transformation, wisdom, and the underworld across cultures for thousands of years. Carved from wood that predates recorded history, this one carries that weight literally.
