Lapis Lazuli & Bog Oak Pendant Necklace — One of a Kind
A handmade statement necklace, entirely one of a kind, crafted at RavenStein Studio from materials that carry centuries of history between them.
At its centre, a sleek rectangular pendant of 5,000-year-old bog oak — preserved in the earth since the Neolithic period, its colour a deep, almost liquid black — set with a single bronze dot that catches the light like a distant star. Simple. Precise. Quietly powerful.
The strand is built from raw lapis lazuli pieces — irregular, natural-edged slabs of deep midnight blue, veined with gold pyrite — alternating with smooth black onyx beads. The contrast between the raw lapis and the polished onyx gives the necklace a rhythm that draws the eye down to the pendant. Copper barrel beads at the clasp add a warm, earthy finish.
Lapis lazuli has been prized for over 6,000 years — ground into ultramarine by Renaissance painters, worn by pharaohs, traded across continents. Here it is paired with wood that predates all of it.
